Contracts in ClearCRM help formalize deals and set clear expectations between you and your customers. Whether you're handling a one-time agreement or a recurring service, contracts give structure and transparency to your sales workflow.

Why Use Contracts?

Contracts go beyond proposals—they’re used when both sides are ready to commit. They help you:

  • Set formal agreement terms

  • Track contract durations and values

  • Organize service-based, retainer, or B2B commitments

Accessing the Contracts Section

Go to Sales > Contracts from the left-hand menu.

Here, you'll see:

  • Two visual charts:

    • Contracts by Type

    • Contract Value by Type
These give you insight into trends and performance.

  • A contracts table with key columns like:

    • Subject

    • Customer

    • Contract Type

    • Contract Value

    • Start/End Dates

    • Status and more

Creating a New Contract

Click the New Contract button to open the contract creation form. Fill in the following:

  • Customer (who the contract is for)

  • Subject (a clear title for internal use)

  • Contract Value

  • Contract Type (you can add new types instantly)

  • Start and End Dates

  • Internal Notes or Description (to capture any additional terms or background)

Once saved, the contract appears in your table, ready for tracking and future reference.

When to Use Contracts

Contracts are ideal for:

  • Retainers

  • Recurring services

  • Large one-off deals

  • Any formal agreement after the proposal phase

They’re a cornerstone of keeping your sales process professional, compliant, and well-documented.
