In ClearCRM, currencies define how financial amounts are displayed across invoices, estimates, expenses, and other finance-related sections. You can manage existing currencies or add new ones that fit your organization’s global operations.

Accessing the Currencies Page

  1. Go to Setup → Finance → Currencies.

  2. You’ll see a table listing the currencies currently available in your account.

    • By default, EUR (Euro) and USD (US Dollar) are included.

    • USD is set as the Base Currency, but you can change it anytime.

Managing Existing Currencies

Each row in the currency table includes a hover button (three dots) that opens a dropdown menu with these options:

  • Edit – Modify the currency’s details.

  • Make Base Currency – Set that currency as your organization’s base currency.

  • Delete – Remove the currency from the system.

⚠️ Only one currency can be set as the Base Currency at a time.

Adding a New Currency

To create a new currency:

  1. Click + New Currency at the top left of the Currencies page.

  2. The Add New Currency pop-up will appear (see image above).

  3. Fill out each field carefully:

    • Currency Code – The official 3-letter ISO code (e.g., USD, GBP, AED).

    • Symbol – The symbol used for that currency (e.g., $, £, د.إ).

    • Decimal Separator – Choose how decimals appear (e.g., “.” or “,”).

    • Thousand Separator – Choose how thousands are formatted (e.g., “space” or “,”).

    • Currency Placement – Choose whether the symbol appears before or after the amount.

  4. Click Save to add the new currency.

💡 Tip: You can find official ISO codes, symbols, and separators by searching online for “ISO currency codes list” — websites like xe.com or iso.org provide accurate references.

Changing the Base Currency

If you want all system calculations and reports to use a different base:

  1. Hover over the currency you want to make primary.

  2. Click Make Base Currency.

  3. Confirm your selection.

Your base currency will now be used by default across invoices, estimates, and dashboards.

Deleting a Currency

If a currency is no longer needed:

  1. Hover over it in the list.

  2. Click the Delete option in the dropdown menu.
